WHO WILL RECEIVE THE THIRD STIMULUS CHECK AND HOW MUCH?
The third stimulus check is on its way to millions of people, here are the new eligibility rules
(i) Individuals earning $75,000 adjusted gross income or less per year will receive $1,400
(ii) Married couples filing jointly earning $150,000 adjusted gross income or less per year will receive $2,800
(iii) Head of Household filers earning $112,500 adjusted gross income or less will receive $1,400
(iv) Each dependent claimed will be an additional $1,400
The first group of $1,400 payments are now going out via direct deposit. When you get a new payment could depend on how you get your funds– direct deposit, mailed check or EIP card.
WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU HAVE NOT FILED YOUR 2020 TAXES?
The IRS will use your most recent tax return to determine your eligibility for the third stimulus and how much your payment is. If you already filed your 2020 tax return this year to claim missing stimulus money or otherwise, the IRS will likely use this information instead, if it processed that return.
